Coaching vs. Therapy

by | Apr 23, 2016

Life coaching is not therapy. Coaches do not work on past-based issues or traumas as in therapy. Although some knowledge of the past may be useful, it is not the focus of coaching.

Life coaches focus on the present and the client’s goals for the future. We help people move forward and figure out how to get unstuck and make the changes they want for the future.

Life coaches help clients to set personal and professional goals and are solution-focused. We help you identify your strengths, give feedback and information, and offer encouragement to help you obtain the results you want!

Life coaches are not the “expert”, as often it is with a therapist, but rather another support person and part of your team!  Many clients are healthy, successful people who might be stuck or simply want to make a big change in their life and want the support of their own personal coach to do so.
